Holly Geerdes, Esq.
Holly Geerdes has established herself as one of the premier appellate attorneys
in Georgia. She has extensive management and leadership experience in coordinating
state-wide projects for professional legal development and research, having
trained everyone from novice attorneys to veteran judges on legal practice and
the law. Her highly successful legal career in state government has enabled
her to develop and maintain close ties with both the State Legislature and the
State Bar to improve the caliber of legal services in Georgia. Ms. Geerdes’
illustrious case victories further set her apart from most veteran attorneys
throughout the state. In four consecutive years, from 2001 to 2005, she received
the prestigious “Case of the Year” award in Georgia for her winning
representations at the Georgia Supreme Court. She was named “Outstanding
Young Lawyer” in 2004 by the State Bar of Georgia in recognition of her
accomplishments. She continues to contribute to the legal community through
her numerous articles and publications and by serving on the boards of multiple
Bar-affiliated organizations. Ms. Geerdes has also been appointed by the Georgia
Supreme Court to serve as a mentor for law students transitioning into the practice
of law and invited by the State Bar to serve on an advisory panel for new lawyers
transitioning into private practice. In 2006, she was named Top Attorney by the Fulton Daily and named one of Georgia's top 14 attorneys under 40 by The Daily Report.
Ms. Geerdes graduated honors from the University of Iowa with degrees
in business administration and political science and received her law degree,
cum laude, from the highly ranked University of Minnesota Law School. Her practice
includes criminal and civil litigation at both the trial and appellate levels.
